Two female suicide bombers have struck a
crowded market in Maiduguri the Borno state
capital this morning killing several people.
The explosion, whose sound was heard across
the metropolis, occurred at about 11:11am.
It went off at a place that has huge
concentration of people buying and selling.
We gathered that the bomb was
concealed in a pickup tricycle, popularly known
as Jega.
"The blast happened at One-Way road that leads
to Bulabulin, adjacent the Monday Market,"
trader Sabiu Aliyu said.
Police and fire fighters are busy cordoning the
scene of the blast.
The number of casuality is unknown at press
time, but a source told NigerianEye that many
dead bodies littered the ground, while many
others were seen with seriously injuries.
