A police inspector identified as Lado Nuhu
attached to Kirikasamma division, Jigawa
State has been killed while trying to avert
a Fulani/famers clash in the area.

Inspector Nuhu lost his life when a team
of polcemen tried to stop Fulani men
from taking their cows into a farm land.

It was gathered that the attack occurred
after the police chased out the
pastoralists from the farm lands where
farm produce had not been harvested to
forestall any possible herders, farmers’
clash in the area.

The herdsmen were said to have
ambushed the policeman at a narrow way
around the river bank where they beat
and pushed him into a river.

While speaking to LADERSHIP, chairman
of Kirikasamma local government area,
Alhaji Mahamud Matafari confirmed the
incident and said “it was unfortunate and
shoking; we are just coming back from
his burial”.

When contacted, the state police
command’s Public Relation Officer, DSP
Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed the death of the
Inspector.

“Of cause, one of our officers lost his life
on duty when he mistakenly drowned in a
river and died,” he said.
