The Secretary to the Government of the
Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, announced this
while handing over the document to the Vice
President Namadi Sambo at the grand finale held
in Abuja.
While receiving the documents, the Vice President
commended the support group for the nationwide
rally and stated that President Goodluck Jonathan
would respond to the call in no time.
“The signatures represent the confidence
Nigerians have in the administration of Dr.
Goodluck Jonathan.
“They also show the President’s acceptability and
popularity across the country. It is good that
Nigerians appreciate the efforts of Mr. President
in the areas of education, aviation, trade and
investment, agriculture, security, roads and many
others,” the Vice President said.
From each geo polictical zone of the country,
representatives delivered motivating speeches, all
with one goal of presenting President Jonathan
as their presidential candidate in 2015.
PDP governors, led by the Chairman of the PDP
Governors’ Forum and also Governor of Akwa
Ibom State, Goodswill Akpabio, were also present
to add their voices to the call for President
Jonathan to run for a second term.
Some of the serving ministers also seized the
opportunity to reel out the achievements of the
Jonathan administration, with the Minister for
Agriculture, Akinwumi Adeshina, and the Minister
For Petroleum Resources, Diezian Alson Madueke
leading the pack.
As the 2015 elections draw closer, the
Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria have
remained optimistic that in the coming days,
President Jonathan would heed their call and
respond in the affirmative.
