The Lagos State Police Command has recovered
16 cars from a five-man gang suspected to be
specialists in snatching and selling of cars within
the state and in different locations, including
Abuja, Port Harcourt and Benin City.
Among the suspects is a 53 year-old man who is
allegedly notorious for changing engine and
chassis numbers of stolen vehicles.
While parading the suspects at the headquarters
of the command, the Commissioner of Police Mr
Kayode Aderanti, told journalists that the men
were arrested by the special Anti-Robbery Squad,
following persistent complains and tip off from
members of the public.
