It was gathered that a fight between two men over a married woman who was still seeing her former boyfriend.
Eyewitnesses said it happened between two neighbouring communities of Badarawa Kwaru and Unguwar Yero in the local government area stated, and that about six people have been confirmed dead in the attack which started on Sunday, April 24.
Speaking on the incident, Emmanuel Kaja who witnessed the incident, told explained that a man from Kwaru community came on motorbike to Unguwar Yero to see his concubine who is a fully married woman in Unguwar Yero.
“The woman was in relationship with the man from Kwaru when she was a girl and used to give her money when they were dating. The lady in question married another person. But after their marriage, the lady and her former boyfriend were still going out.
“On that Sunday evening, the Kwaru man came as usual to look for his concubine. They met as usual, but the husband who was already suspecting his wife trailed her to where they were standing. So, when he accosted them, the Kwaru man kicked his bike and stabbed the man from Yero in the stomach.
“The man later died before he could be rushed to the hospital,” Kaja narrated.
As at Wednesday, it was gathered that there was a heavy presence of police and soldiers as residents remained indoor following the tension in the area.
Recently, a man asked an Igando customary court to dissolve his marriage to wife over her acts of infidelity.
The 59-year-old physically challenged man, identified as Olaiya Adeagbo, asked the court to dissolve his 23-year-old marriage.
He said: “I always received a tip-off from our neighbours that my wife is having an affair with one of our neighbours who was a bachelor.
“That fateful day, I came back home earlier and could not find her in our room, two of my neighbours told me that they sighted her when she sneaked into her lover’s room.
“I went to knock on his door but he refused to open after hearing my voice.
“I continued knocking and he later opened his door, and I saw my wife hiding behind his door sweating and panting, I greeted her and left.”
