The Kaduna state police command has
reportedly declared a state of emergency due to
rising cases of kidnapping in the state.

DSP Zubairu Abubakar, the command’s spokesman,
said this on Tuesday, April 5, in an interview
with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kaduna.

He noted that the declaration of the state of
emergency was on the orders of Solomon
Arase, the inspector general of police.

Abubakar added that a special team of anti-kidnap squad
has been formed to track and dislodge the
criminal gangs operating in the area.
