Troops of the Joint Task Force in the Niger
Delta operating under the code name
Operation Pulo Shield, have yesterday,
rescued a kidnapped soldier in the creek of
Otakeme community in Ogbia Local
Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre,

Operation Pulo Shield, Col. Isa Ado, who
confirmed the search and rescue operation
in Yenagoa, said the soldier was kidnapped
by suspected sea pirates in the creek of
Nembe in Bayelsa East senatorial district on
March 24, 2016.

Speaking to newsmen, he said:


Troops also effected the arrest of a medical
worker, who specialized in treating injured
militants and sea pirates after shoot-outs
with security operatives in the region.
