Court dissolves 12 years of marriage in Ekiti over adultery -
An Ado-Ekiti Customary Court on Monday dissolved a 12-year-old marriage between Femi Fajuyi and his wife, Dupe, for adultery and lack of care.
The President of the court, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi, held that since the respondent had shunned the court, the court deemed it that she had admitted the allegations.
Ogunsemi observed that the marriage had broken down irretrievably and consequently dissolved the marriage.
He awarded the custody of the children to the husband, while he should be responsible for their education.
He also granted access to the wife to see her children without hindrance.
Fajuyi, 37, a resident of Ida-Eku, Ado-Ekiti told the court that his wife deserted him in 2015.
He said that there was a day he caught his wife in a hotel coming out with another man and when she got back home he told her to go back.
The father of three said she did not even apologised and she immediately went back and later came back home after three days.
Fajuyi told the court that his wife came to pick the third child that she dropped with him, saying when he got to their house, he met the same man in her parent house.
He claimed that she did not take care of the children, saying she use them to hawk on the street while she was still with him.
He said that he had remarried because of her bad behaviour.
He, therefore, prayed the court to grant him the custody of his children, Favour,10, Lekan, eight, and Precious, three, because their mother would jeopardise their future.
