A 24-year-old man, Saviour E*, has arrested and is currently being detained in Kirikiri prison by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling a 3-year-old girl.
The toddler was said to be his neighbour’s daughter. According to the prosecutor, the accused, who lives at Agege, Lagos, was said to have defiled the toddler on the 23rd of March.
“The accused called the girl inside his room and defiled her, it was her cry that alerted her mother and the accused was apprehended,” he said, adding that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, then gave the order that the accused be remanded till April 20 until his bail application is determined.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
