The Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP George Okafor, has confirmed that one Jacinta was beaten to death by her husband, James Uguru, over claims that she is involved in extra marital affairs.
The incident reportedly happened over the weekend in Ndubia Inyimaegu community in Izzi Local Government Area of the state.
The PPRO said the suspect had angrily beaten his wife to stupor when the deceased stopped him from chasing after her alleged lover boy.“The suspect has been arrested and efforts are on to arrest the said lover boy,” the PPRO confirmed.
Uguru, who is based in Lagos, was said to have become suspicious of his wife’s alleged promiscuity following rumours making the rounds on the matter in the community whenever he visits home (Ebonyi) to see his family.
However, trouble started when Uguru arrived Ebonyi and before he got settled, the couple was discussing in the sitting room and suddenly a phone rang in their bedroom.
As the husband made to go for the phone, his wife held his waist, preventing him from moving, Vanguard reports.
