Darren Shahlavi, an actor best known for
roles on television programs such as Arrow
and Mortal Kombat: Legacy, was found dead
on January 14 at his home in Los Angeles.

He was 42 years old.

Law enforcement officials confirm to TMZ
that Shahlavi is believed to have died via a
prescription drug overdose, though few details
are available at this time.

Shahlavi started his career as a stuntman in
Hong Kong in the 1990s, later moving to the
United States to pursue acting.

The Los Angeles County Coroner will soon be
conducting toxicology tests before
determining the precise cause of death.

Stephen Amell, who appeared opposite
Shahlavi on the very first episode of Arrow,
Tweeted the following not long after hearing
the sad news.

"RIP Darren Shahlavi," wrote Amell.

"1st guy I
ever fought on Arrow. He was a great dude &
a patient, thoughtful partner. Fight looked
good because of him."
