NAN reports that Tinubu is presently
representing the senatorial district at
the senate.
Mr Kehinde Akinola, the Chairman of
the Electoral Committee, who declared
the winner, said that a total of 2,428
votes were cast during the election, out
of which 2,379 were valid.
Akinola said that Tinubu had 2,354
votes while her opponent, Mr Odutola
Adetokunbo, had 25 votes.
He said that there were 49 invalid votes.
Addressing journalists, Tinubu
commended the delegates and the
people of the constituency for the
confidence they had in her.
She described the victory as a “debt”
that would be paid back through quality
representation at the senate.
NAN reports that Adetokunbo and his
agents were not at the venue when the
result was announced.
The election started by at about 1:00p.m
and ended at about 5:40p.m. at the
Landmark Centre, Oniru Estate, Victoria
Island.
