Peter Kassig never gave up — the soldier
turned aid worker defied his captors until
the last moment, refusing to give a
statement before getting beheaded.
On Nov. 16, a graphic video was released of a
man with a British accent dressed in black robes.
Next to him was the head of Peter Kassig , the 26-
year-old aid worker, who may have refused to
make a propaganda statement before his killing —
the first of the five who were gruesomely
beheaded.

A masked fighter, reportedly known as Jihadi
John , referred to Peter’s silence during the video,
saying that the hostages before him had spoken
for him – David Haines, Alan Henning, James
Foley and Steven Sotloff each made statements
before their horrible deaths.
