Nigerian troops recaptured Mubi town in
collaboration with civilian JTF and local hunters.
The Adamawa state governor, James Ngillari who
confirmed the victory to Channels Television said
at least 60 members of the Boko Haram were
killed in the fight to reclaim Mubi.
Some of the residents that spoke to Channels
Television also said all the flags hoisted by the
insurgents had been removed and replaced by
Nigerian flags and the palace of the Emir of Mubi
had also been restored.
Governor Ngilari, who described the victory
against the Boko Haram insurgents as the
handwork of God, commended the military and
paramilitary as well as the local hunters and
civilian JFT who gave their all towards the
success of the operation.
He urged resident who fled the town to return to
their homes.
