Nasarawa State Police Command
yesterday paraded 20 suspects arrested in
connection with the recent communal
clashes in the state which claimed several
lives.
Also paraded yesterday were five armed
robbery suspects arrested by the
command in the past two months.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO)
DSP Ugochukwu Theodore, while
addressing the press at the Criminal
Investigation Department (CID) in Lafia
said 20 persons were also rescued by
officers and men of the command during
the recent communal standoff.
He added that the command has also
arrested one Sandra Linus of Anguwan
Police in Masaka who conspired and
kidnapped a nine year old minor, Nnenna
Ogbonna and was luckily snatched from
death as the Police found her
unconscious in the residence of the
suspect after she was administered with
harmful chemical substance.
Officers and men of the Police also
recorded success on the Lafia-Awe
express which has been notorious for
criminal activities. One James Ayiwulu of
Anguwan Ambuga from Giza Development
Area was arrested in possession of one
localky made pistol, live cartridges and
assorted criminal charms.
“Abdullahi Mohammed, 25, of no fixed
address but claimed to be an indigene of
Kachako area of Kano state was caught
having carnal knowledge of a six year old
(name withheld) in an uncompleted
building in Anguwan Sarki Ward of Doma
local government.”
