Ibrahim recounts his ordeal before the bomb went off. and the bomb was set to explode immediately it was dropped off.
An eye witness, Lamara Ibrahim who survived the
explosion that rocked one of the ATM points in a
bank in Azare, Bauchi today has revealed how the
explosion occurred.
According to him, the bomber approached people
who had queued up outside a First Bank branch
at roughly 10:30 am.
“A man came on foot to this ATM where a large
crowd was taking turns to withdraw money. The
man tried to leave a black plastic bag on a parked
motorcycle nearby but was stopped before he
could leave. It was while they were talking to him
that the bomb exploded. I saw at least 10 people
that looked dead,” Ibrahim told PM news.
The total number of casualties at the scene is yet
to be confirmed.
A bomb blast at a bus station in Azare killed at
least five people on October 23.
The bus station is just 100 metres (330 feet)
from the cash machine.
