Amb. Chris Giwa and his board members were
Monday locked out of the boardroom of the
Nigeria Football Federation by the staff.
Sports Vanguard can report that most of the
staff who had earlier reported to duty sneaked
out of the office on sighting Giwa and his group
who were at the secretariat to inaugurate some
of the committees they created last week.
After trying unsuccessfully to gain entrance to the
board room, Giwa decided to address the press in
front of the Secretariat before leaving the
premises.
Giwa who is acting on the strength of a court
ruling which nullified the election of the NFF
president, Amaju Pinnick said that the current
crisis rocking football in the country was not a
personal fight between him and Pinnick but a way
of strengthening the system.
The proprietor of Giwa FC of Jos also said he
and his members were not hell-bent on occupying
the seat saying they were ready for a fresh
election.
“We are not holding on to our mandate of August
26. It is not a do or die for us. We have
requested for reconciliation’’.
