U guys remember the last post of the senator whos china phone was stolen and ordered the search of all jornalists present.well it gets better.
The leadership of Kano Council of the
Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, has given
Kano Electricity Distribution Company, KEDCO,
seven days within which to tender an unreserved
apology to journalists in the state over
embarrassment suffered in relation to the
suspected missing phone of Chairman, Senate
Committee on Privatization, Senator Gbenga
Obadara.
The union also threatened to seek legal redress
should the company fail to apologise, asking that
the apology be published in five national
newspapers.
The NUJ, in a statement signed by the chairman
and secretary, Haruna AbdulJalal and Abubakar
Adamu Gamo, respectively, said a consortium of
constitutional lawyers had been put on notice in
this regard.
It regretted that the unfortunate false accusation
was a conscious attempt to blackmail the
Journalism profession.
The NUJ announced suspension of press coverage
of KEDCO’s media event, pending the resolution
of the crisis.
