Gov. Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State at the
weekend obtained his intent form to contest
for Ebonyi Central senatorial seat come 2015.
Although PDP stakeholders of Ebonyi Central
senatorial district led by the National
President of Ebonyi Youth Assembly, Comrade
Chinedu Ogah, purchased the form for him,
Elechi accepted the form stating that he was
humbled by the offer.
The form was handed over to Elechi during
the state executive council meeting of the
party at its secretariat in Abakaliki.
Announcing the purchase of the form to the
party stakeholders, Ogah also disclosed that
Ebonyi Youth Assembly has acquired
campaign offices,4 Siena buses and 50
thousand posters in readiness for Elechi’s
Senatorial campaign.
He explained that their decision was informed
by the good leadership qualities of Elechi.
Presenting the form to governor Elechi, the
commissioner for Grant and Donor agencies,
Chief Fred Udeogu pleaded with the governor
to accept the form as according to him the
decision was not done in error.
He stated that the decision was reached after
a wide consultation with the stakeholders of
the zone adding that Elechi has fulfilled the
reason he fought for the creation of the state.
Accepting the form, Elechi thanked the
stakeholders of Ebonyi Central senatorial zone
but stated that he would thank them more
another day when he would be ready and at
appropriate place.
“If I say yes, that I accept or no that I don’t
accept, time is of essence and that may create
problem for the party.
